  7 - Tue

We've all heard the say "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink."

How about this... "You can lead someone to Christ, but you can't make him receive."

I heard that analogy recently, and it was so good that I had to include it here.  We can pray all we want to for someone to accept and receive Christ... we're just wasting our breath.  Everything has already been done that needs to be done.  The price has already been paid.  There's nothing left for God to do!  It's up to them!

Some people even say things like "Pray for me that I get saved... I really want to me saved."  Again... WHY?!?  What else are they expecting God to do as a result of our praying for them?

The ONLY thing left to do is for them to "receive".  Believe that Christ died for our sins and receive His salvation through faith.

He wants us to receive salvation.  But, just like not being able to make a horse drink the water in front of him, there are some things that are left up to us.  God's already given it to us... now we have to receive it.

So, after all this time as an IT manager, I've never been on MySpace or Facebook.  Don't even know how to tweet on twitter.  Until today!

I decided to try out Facebook.  And oh my GOODNESS!  Its AWESOME!  Almost immediately, I started seeing photos of people I knew.  I saw groups of people that had the same interests as I do. Facebooks of places I'd been to or worked at or go to church!

Then it happened!  The same afternoon that I signed up... I had someone asking to be my friend!  WOW!  I had a friend!  And it was someone that I knew!  Someone I hadn't seen in almost 30 years!  How cool is that?

In just a couple of days I was in touch with several of my old college friends and roommates as well as high school friends.  It was (and still is) quite a wonderful feeling to talk to people I haven't seen in a very long time.  Some that I thought I'd NEVER get a chance to talk to again.

Makes me stop and think... how much more wonderful is it going to seem one day when we see friends, family, people we never knew, even historical figures, once we get to Heaven.  I can just imagine the joy... the adrenaline rush... that will wash over us!
